AI Tree Scanner lets users take photos with their camera or upload images from their gallery for AI-based analysis to determine whether a tree or plant is healthy. The App also provides an AI Assistant (chat) that can answer plant-related questions. To provide these features, the App processes images and chat text; some processing may happen on-device while other processing may occur on our servers or with third-party providers.

2. Data we collect

We may collect and process the following data:

Photos / Images: Images of trees or plants you take with the camera or upload from your gallery for analysis.
Image metadata: Technical metadata stored in the image file (e.g., file type, dimensions, timestamp, and optionally location/EXIF data). You can choose to remove metadata before uploading.
Chat transcripts & content: Conversations with the AI Assistant used to generate responses and improve the service.
Device and usage information: Technical information such as device type, OS version, non-identifying device IDs, app version, crash logs, and telemetry used for troubleshooting and analytics.

3. Purpose of processing

To run image analysis and/or the AI Assistant, we may use third-party service providers (for example: AI model providers, cloud hosting, and analytics services). 5. Are images uploaded to a server?

Images you take or upload may be processed on-device or on a server, depending on your app settings and the app version. If processing occurs on a server, images are transmitted using encryption to our servers or to third-party AI providers. If you prefer fully on-device processing for maximum privacy, check the app settings (if available) or contact us for options.

6. Storage & retention

We retain images, chat logs, and related data only as long as necessary to provide the services described above or as required by law. Our default retention period for processing data is up to 90 days, unless you request earlier deletion or we are required to retain it longer by law.

7. Data sharing

We will not sell your personal data. We may share your data with:

Third-party service providers (cloud, AI providers, analytics) who assist with processing or storing the data.
Law enforcement or authorities when required by law.
Other parties with your explicit consent.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Measures include encrypted transmission, access controls, and monitoring.
